White Settlement Independent School District (WSISD) created The First Class Learning Center to increase the
options available to students and their families for delivery of services under the Special Programs umbrella. The reason for this practice was the lack of program options of least restrictive environment and inclusive
opportunities for our students with disabilities. The center opened in the fall of 1999.The children with disabilities are served in the 3 or 4 year-old room with age-appropriate non-disabled peers. The children’s IEP goals are integrated into the routines and activities of
the preschool program including large group time, small group time, and center time.
